Blending Faith & Academics for Whole-Child Development
At Vine & Branches, we believe in nurturing every aspect of your child’s growth—intellectual, emotional, social, physical and spiritual. And Christ is our foundation for everything.
That’s why we use a carefully designed blend of two researched curriculums in our classrooms: one focused on academic excellence and the other on faith-based learning. Each day, your child will experience a dynamic blend of hands-on academic exploration and faith-centered teachings that will help them grow both in knowledge and in their understanding of God’s love.
Academic & Whole-Child Curriculum: Teaching Strategies GOLD
We use the Teaching Strategies GOLD curriculum to ensure that every child develops a strong academic foundation. This curriculum focuses on fostering the whole child by engaging children in a range of experiences that support social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development. Teaching Strategies GOLD allows us to tailor activities to your child’s individual needs, interests, and developmental stage.
Children will grow their skills in:
- Literacy: Building language and pre-reading skills.
- Mathematics: Developing number sense and early problem-solving skills.
- Science & Exploration: Encouraging curiosity and scientific thinking.
- Social-Emotional Development: Learning how to engage with others, manage emotions, and understand the world around them.
This research-based curriculum ensures that your child is ready for the next step in their educational journey, whether it's kindergarten or beyond.
Faith-Based Curriculum: SPARK
Our faith-based curriculum, SPARK, is an integral part of our daily activities. Designed by Sparkhouse, a trusted provider of faith-centered educational resources, SPARK provides age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, and activities that nurture spiritual growth. This curriculum introduces young children to foundational Bible stories and Christian values, helping them understand God’s love in a way that’s accessible and meaningful for their age.
Children ages 0-2 engage in:
- Bible Songs & Stories: Our youngest learners enjoy interactive Bible songs and stories, introducing them to God's love through music and play.
- Faith-Focused Learning: Teachers incorporate Bible stories and Christian teachings into daily routines and activities, fostering a sense of trust, love, and security.
For older children, SPARK incorporates:
- Bible Stories & Activities: Engaging stories and activities that deepen their understanding of God’s Word.
- Prayer & Faith Development: Encouraging children to develop a personal connection with God through prayer, worship, and faith-based discussions.
- Weekly Chapel Wednesdays: We add in this important worship component for ages 2 and up with Pastor Chris.
By blending academic learning with a strong foundation in faith, we offer a unique, holistic approach to early childhood education. We prepare children not only for school but also for life, instilling in them a love for learning, a deep sense of faith, and a strong moral compass.
