FAQs
We welcome all at Vine & Branches, and you do not need to be Christian to attend. God made each of us unique and beautiful, and we value and celebrate diversity. We teach and show the love of Jesus everyday as given to us in His Word—the Bible. Children are a gift from the Lord, and we are honored to love, teach and guide them through some of their most formative years, alongside you.
Part of what sets Vine & Branches apart is our excellent Parent-Teacher relationships. Often when parents have a question, they’ll hear us say, “Let me check with your child’s teacher!” Discuss important milestones, and any other details you wish with your teacher. If your child takes their first steps here and you’d rather we not let you know, we can keep that to ourselves. If you want to know right away, we’ll update you on the app, and possibly snap some photos to share, too. We are partners with you and value communicating with our families.
We work on potty training as a team with you. Ages two and up are focused on potty training, and our teachers support each child’s progress, along with you! To transition from our Two’s to Three's classroom, your child does need to be potty trained. Most parents are surprised how well the process goes when children have a full year to get comfortable with potty training in the home and classroom.
We are a peanut-free childcare, and we take allergies very seriously. Plus, we know some families have specific food preferences, too. Let us know and we will accommodate your child’s unique needs, to the best of our abilities. Allergies are always taken with the highest of precautions.
We are MAT certified to administer prescriptions and emergency medication such as epi-pen, inhalers, or Benadryl. However, we are not authorized to give pain or fever reducing medication. Check out our illness policy for more details.
We take health seriously at Vine & Branches, instituting appropriate precautions to mitigate the spread of germs so all children and staff can enjoy good health. Our teachers monitor your child’s health through a daily health observation survey. Exclusion from childcare is determined on an individual basis. Because we keep track of children’s daily health, we can contact parents not just when they are feeling their worst, but also when their health seems ‘off’. Per Virginia Health Standards, children do need to go home as soon as possible, and stay home, when they have a fever of 100 or higher, when they have reoccurring vomiting or diarrhea, or when they have a communicable disease. If your child goes home sick, they need to have been fever/diarrhea/vomit free for 24 hours before returning, and we thank you for taking our policies as seriously as we do, for the health of us all.
Our registration fee is 250/child, but if your family has more than one child, we offer a registration rate cap. Families pay no more than 400 to register.

As careful as we are, accidents can happen. We follow Virginia State licensing requirements for reporting injuries and incidents. Anything minor, such as a small scrape or bruise, will be discussed at pick-up with you. Rest assured; we will call you immediately for any potential serious issue, and we have detailed protocols in place to keep everyone safe.
