What to Expect on Your First Sunday at Vine & Branches

Visiting a new church can feel intimidating, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. At Vine & Branches Lutheran Church in Aldie, Virginia, we want your first visit to feel comfortable, welcoming, and stress-free. Whether you’re exploring faith, looking for a church home, or simply visiting with a friend, we’re excited to meet you!

Step 1: Arrive and Park

Our campus is located at 25615 Lennox Hale Drive in Aldie, Virginia. When you arrive, you’ll see one large building with two covered entrances. Simply turn to the right and park anywhere that is convenient for you. The church entrance is located under the right-side overhang, while the childcare entrance is on the left side of the building.

If you’re visiting for the first time, we recommend arriving about 10–15 minutes before the service begins. This gives you plenty of time to park, grab a cup of coffee, and get settled.

Step 2: Come As You Are

One of the most common questions we hear is, “What should I wear?”

The answer is simple: whatever makes you comfortable. On any given Sunday you’ll see everything from suits and dresses to jeans, flannels, and casual attire. There is no dress code, and you won’t feel out of place regardless of what you wear.

Step 3: Grab a Cup of Coffee

Before and between services, many of our members gather for coffee and conversation. It’s a great opportunity to meet people, ask questions, and get to know our church family. We believe church is about more than attending a service—it’s about building relationships and growing together in faith.

Step 4: Find Your Seat

When you enter through the church doors, you’ll find the sanctuary just ahead through the double doors on the right. Feel free to sit wherever you’d like—there are no reserved seats. Our congregation is made up of people from all walks of life, and you’ll be warmly welcomed whether you’re attending alone, with friends, or with your family.

Step 5: Worship With Us

We offer two Sunday worship services:

  • 8:30 AM Traditional Service – Featuring hymns, pastoral robes, and the historic Lutheran liturgy.
  • 10:30 AM Contemporary Service – Featuring a praise band and a contemporary style of worship rooted in the Lutheran Divine Service.

Both services center on God’s Word, prayer, worship, and the good news of Jesus Christ. Services typically last about one hour.

If you’d like to participate in communion, please connect with our Pastor, Chris Conkling prior to service. He would love to talk with you about Communion and what it means to us as a church.

Step 6: Bring the Kids

Families are always welcome in worship. We encourage children to participate alongside their parents, but we also offer a free nursery for children ages 6 months through 4 years during our Sunday morning activities. Sunday Spark education opportunities are available at 9:30 AM for children and adults alike.

Step 7: Stay and Connect

After worship, don’t rush out! Many people stay for conversation and fellowship. We’d love the opportunity to get to know you, answer any questions you may have, and help you find ways to connect with our church family.

We Can’t Wait to Meet You – Everyone Belongs!
