2025 Fall Festival

Vine & Branches Lutheran Church & Childcare recently hosted our annual Fall Festival here in Aldie, Virginia, and it was a blast! Many of our staff, congregation families and childcare parents came together to make this a wonderful event for our community. Memories were made as children got to enjoy a moon bounce, autumn-themed sensory bins and crafts, and a variety of animals at the petting zoo!

One of the highlights of our event was of course our Trunk-or-Treat, because who doesn’t like free candy, right? We had eight vehicles all decked out with wonderfully original and creative themes. Unicorns, Where’s Waldo, Lady and the Tramp, and the Target car were among the favorites, and each one had some delicious treats! One vehicle was even giving out full size stuffies!

The wide variety of old-fashioned fun activities kept everyone smiling! Classic crowd pleasers were pumpkin tic-tac-toe and cornhole, and attendees of all ages loved competing to see who could build the tallest tower in giant Jenga. Our youngest visitors were very excited to explore the Kirkpatrick Farms Firetruck and let their imagination soar with beautiful face painting!  

We were blessed with beautiful autumnal weather with not a drop of rain in sight! That didn’t stop our Childcare Director, Lieschen McKeever, from getting soaked, however. Kids and parents alike enjoyed the opportunity to Dunk the Director by tossing a bean bag at a target. Their aim was exceptional from the first throw, and poor Lieschen was dunked over 25 times!

Fortunately, there was plenty of hot apple cider to warm up our director, as well as plenty of delicious pies to try in the pie tasting. Everyone grabbed a bag of popcorn and a cone of cotton candy too! It wasn’t all treats for the sweet tooth though; we had some amazing food trucks who came to our event as well. All dishes received amazing reviews, and it seemed everyone left full and satisfied.

Everyone was on the edge of their seat to hear whose name would be called when it was time to announce the winners of our amazing giveaways, which included a children’s Bible, one month’s FREE tuition in our childcare, and a WHOLE YEAR of Day Camp! Congratulations to all of our winners!

Only one event rivaled our giveaways for the most excitement – seeing who would get the chance to Pie our Pastor! A young member of our church had the lucky ticket, and she sure made the most of her shot. Pastor Chris got a “pie” made with FOUR entire bottles of whipped cream right in the face. Sorry Pastor Chris! Thanks for taking one for the team!
