Find a Grow Group at Vine & Branches

At Vine & Branches Lutheran Church & Childcare in Aldie, Virginia we are committed to the belief that Jesus fulfills our joy through making disciples who are rooted in Christ, growing together in His word, and showing Him to the world. This year, we have embraced these principles as our mission statement and are dedicated to embodying them in all that we do.  

One way we stay rooted in Christ and grow together in His word is through our Grow Group bible studies. These groups provide an opportunity not only to deepen our understanding of God’s guidance in our lives but also to cultivate a sense of encouragement, community, and support among fellow believers.

The book of Hebrews emphasizes the significance of community and the value of coming together. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:23-25

When asked why the weekly Grow Group she attends was important to her, one member had this to say, “Each Thursday, we gather not just to study the Word, but to grow together in faith, friendship, and community. Whether we are diving into Scripture or sharing life’s ups and downs, this group has become a midweek anchor and a source of spiritual renewal. Come as you are—there’s always room at the table.” -Nathalie  

Another member said, ‘I love our ladies daytime Bible Study for the historical knowledge and the fellowship that comes with it. The ladies in this group are always bringing a book or a map or something on top of what we’re already studying. I have had many ah-ha moments in this study.  

On a similar note, the ladies’ Tuesday night online study is a bright spot in my week. We do a Bible study and pray each time we chat. We also reach out in WhatsApp and pray for each other, the church, and our community as things come up. I am not typically the type to ask for prayer and this group is helping me do that.” -Kristin

1 Thessalonians 5:11 admonishes us, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” When asked what encouragement a group bible study brings, another member of Vine & Branches said, “I look forward to Tuesday night with my ladies! We talk about our lesson for the week and then pray together. We’ve seen SO many answered prayers. It’s amazing to be a part of and to know someone is always praying for you. Every week I leave feeling uplifted. We always have room for more!” -Amy 

We wanted to highlight the importance of unity and togetherness when we chose 1 Corinthians 12:27 for our theme verse for 2025-2026. It states, “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.” Considering each person’s value within the group she attends, another Vine & Branches member said, “I’m a person of average intellect and most times, I get more questions than answers when studying books of the Bible.  Being part of the Wednesday morning Lady’s Bible Study has given me much more understanding because of the way we give our perspective of what we have read, then discuss it which opens dialog and expands our thought process. I leave our study group with ideas and thoughts to ponder. Most times, I go home to research more and bring back more questions to our next meeting time. I think this small group of women have enriched my life, and for sure my walk in learning how to “Be Still and Know” that God is always with me if I just listen.  I don’t think I would have handled the end of 2024 as well as I did without having these ladies in my life.  The support discussing our lives before, after, and sometime at lunch after study has been especially important for me personally to learn that each of us has some advice or perspective to learn from. We are a group of ages spanning from a mom of young children to newly retiring age, to grandmothers of college age kids.  That brings lots of life lived to share with others.” -Vicki 

This fall all of Vine & Branches’ Grow Groups are uniting in an engaging exploration of Loved and Sent: How Two Words Define Who You Are and Why You Matter by Jeff Cloeter. We invite you to join us in studying this insightful book and discovering how to apply its scripture-based principles to our lives.
